news from the doc.

I found out today that the pain in my back is NOT due to any cancer mets in my bones. Bones are clear–yahoo!

Apparently, however, I continue to suffer from DFS. This is what I’ve had since I was a kid. If I don’t get enough sleep (over 8 hours a night), I get flu-like symptoms, often immediately, but sometimes I can last until the next day until I fall apart–fever, chills, nausea, you get the picture. As a college student, this ruled out any “all-nighter” study session and seriously curtailed my social life.

When I was working full time, I had a few sick days due to DFS, which was at that time unnamed. Having coffee with my friend, Jeanne, and talking about this mysterious syndrome of mine, she said, “You seem so strong, but really you’re just a delicate flower!” Thus, Delicate Flower Syndrome (DFS).

DFS has gotten me a few times over the past few weeks as I’ve had some anxiety over the possibility of bone mets, but I plan to sleep well tonight!!

LOL, Natasha! May I “borrow” the “DFS” moniker?
And what excellent news about no bone mets. Are you still doing chemo every other week or so? We continue to lift you in prayer every day!
Love,
Chris and Dave

YEAH!!! good news!

DFS? you???

buahahahhaa…you are the bravest, strongest woman I know but if you want to feel delicate and flowery well then girl, you go for it!

BIG HUGS~!!!

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who requires 8+ hours of sleep.

Congrats on the good news!

Hooray for the bones! I sense that the DFS moniker is now going to spread far and wide and people won’t know where it started, except for the few and the proud who can feel superior to the rest because we know the Original Delicate Flower.

Yay!!! That’s great news, Tash. Frankly, I have no memory of your DFS symptoms from the epic years of ’93-’94. Maybe I couldn’t recognize your Delicate Flower Syndrome as I was too busy with my Shrinking Violet problem.

You come up with the funniest info about your life. I have never pictured you with DFS. SCWS perhaps!! (smart capable woman syndrome!!) Sleep well~

Great news! Although I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to perceive you as a delicate flower.
I wish you the sweetest of dreams.

OH I am so glad I finally know about DFS. That must be what I had when I had to pull 3 all nighters in a row for work. I think my DF is of the Day Lily type. And I think you should hear from Aunti Rose telling you that Grandma even knew of DFS when Rose was born and that is why she is so aptly named. A Betty
